The school was established in October 1958. In July 2008, the school was moved to the former premises of Kavoliskis Elementary School in Rokiskis district, located 3 km from the center of Rokiskis. School code 190804895, address – Melioratoriu str. 1A, Kavoliskis v., Rokiskis d. Since January 1, 2019, the school has been granted the status of a public institution.
Vocational training as well as continuing formal and non-formal education are organized at the school. According to the data for 2018, the school has 305 students and 52 employees, including 26 teachers.
Students with basic education at school follow the following vocational training programs: chef (modular), tailor (modular), decorator (builder) (modular), automotive mechanic (modular)
Upper secondary education students follow the following vocational training programs: cook (modular), tailor (modular), accountant and cashier (modular), assistant social worker (modular), finisher (builder) (modular), automotive mechanic (modular), welder (modular).
Pupils with special educational needs are invited to complete the chef (modular) profession after completing the primary education program.
Students who have not completed their basic education program but are 16 years old are invited to acquire the profession of technical locksmith repairer or tailor.
Students seeking a second qualification may be offered vocational training programs for continuing vocational education: accountant and cashier (modular), tailor (modular), social worker assistant (modular)
Initial and continuing vocational training has two objectives: to contribute to increasing employability, growth and addressing societal challenges, promoting social cohesion.
Vocational and general education mobility of pupils and teachers at school has produced high quality results. One of the directions of the school’s internationalization is the further development of the European strategy of internationalization by expanding the geography of partnerships. Through networking with institutions in other countries and a broader national approach to vocational training, the school aims to develop internationalization within a cultural organization, to develop mobility and quality assessment procedures, to motivate students to learn, to improve teacher training. Internationalization is one of the future priorities for the quality of vocational education and training, for competitiveness at regional, national and European level.
Since 2011, has been gained experience in project implementation and established contacts with the host organizations, cooperation with project partners in Lithuania and abroad, sharing experience in project implementation.
The school aims to ensure equal access to education, in particular for people and groups at risk of exclusion, in particular for the low-skilled and the unskilled, or disadvantaged. Inclusion of students with fewer opportunities in international traineeships provides them with opportunities to acquire new practical and communication skills, promotes their social integrity, increases tolerance levels and reduces social exclusion.
Since 2013 has been developed, implemented and maintained a quality management system at the school. This system is in line with ISO 9001: 2015 standard, the implementation of which justifies the school’s implementation of an international systemic approach to improving the effectiveness of its quality management system to eliminate school weaknesses and threats.
